The Anarchist Tea Party Wiki

You may be wondering, "What's this now?" The situation is simple. Many people have problems with Anarchism for a number of different reasons. There are a considerable number of websites, and indeed wikis, devoted to the topic. However, the one thing that very few of these organizations have attempted to do, is give practical definitions, advice, and discussion about it. No one has made Anarchism(s) more attractive to the lay person. Most of them do not define it clearly, or over-intellectualize it.

This is not to say that we won't be intellectualizing things. Far from it, it would be ideal if this wiki could be as intellectual as possible, as informed as possible, but as open as possible. We are not trying to put a "spin" on anarchy, but to make it accessible and acceptible. We are anarchists, not because we are "rebels" or "dissidents" (though we may still be these things), but because anarchism is not what people seem to think it is.

It's like Diogenes said, "I can see the horse, but I can't see horsehood." We would like to lay out what it is to be an anarchist by example (the very concept of a wiki is anarchic), and not by definition.

Very important news:

• A new forum has been installed on the domain. Here's the link. Also, there is a large, bold link in the sidebar for quick access. I'm going to put a link up on the forum that leads back here as soon as I figure out how.
• I will be upgrading the wiki software on Saturday so if there are glitches that's why. I will back up the entire website before this, so if the site does go down briefly, don't worry, it will be back intact.

Due to link spam, a password was added to the main page.

• Since I assume most spam-depositors are automated, they probably don't read the page itself so: The password to edit the main page is anarchism

• Remember: To create new wiki pages, all you need is to make up and then use a WikiWord Addtionally, if you don't want to use two words, you can use double brackets to make a link: [[Link]]

Current Business at the Office

• WikiConcepts is a quick little thread that I thought might be useful.
• 'News Section' removed for lack of updates. Will try to bring it back when things get rolling again.
• A couple of ideas, things for those anarchists out there who are interested:
  • Potential wordpress blogs at the anarchyteaparty.org domain, for anyone interested in keeping a political commentary and/or scholarly essay blog. If interested, email me.
  • Also, new anarchyteaparty.org email forwarders (maybe email accounts, once I figure out how they work on the new hosting server).

• If you wish to be a major contributor then also email me. Literally, this goes for ANYONE. Even if you found this site by accident. Hell, if you feel like it, go ahead and put your email address on the sidebar. I won't stop you.
• Make sure you put your name in the Author: box at the top of the edit page! It's always better to see that than an IP address
• What to do with this debacle
• Remember, the best part about an anarchist wiki is that it doesn't have to be about anarchism. If you have a stellar recipe for peach cobbler, be my guest.
• When linking to external websites, you must know the administrator password to approve them. Dr Kuha checks the site daily, and will approve just about all links. This was all an effort to stop link spamming.

Thy tax cuts for the rich and thy media control, they discomfort me. Thou preparest an agenda of deception in the presence of thy religion. Thou anointest my head with foreign oil. My health insurance runneth out. Surely megalomania and false patriotism shall follow me all the days of thy term, And my jobless child shall dwell in my basement forever.

Ha! My favorite part of that is "My health insurance runneth out"!
